  •             This course is designed to introduce the student nurse to basic concepts of adequate nutrition, the importance and function of food and a well balanced diet, daily requirement of nutrients for different age group is presented. This course addresses the nurse's responsibility in providing nutrition to healthy individuals and person with special symptoms. Antioxidant will be discussed and hunger as a concept will be addressed.

  • The course is geared towards introducing nursing students to educational process. Emphasis is placed on the interrelationship of the components of the educational spiral. The educational spiral and its components are used in the development of a mini-health teaching unit for patients suffering from various conditions and/or healthy individuals for the promotion of health, in various institutions of care or in the community.

  • Emphasis in this course is placed on the prioritization and decision making processes of nursing care and the nursing responsibilities associated with diagnostic studies, emergency nursing procedures, evaluation of outcomes, health promotion and support for individuals and families experiencing acute health problems. Collaboration with interdisciplinary health professionals in health restoration is fostered. Clinical experiences are offered in nursing skill lab and emergency units.

  • Summary

    This course offers the students the general knowledge and skills necessary to understand the characteristics of critically ill patients, recognize the effect of the critical care environment on them, use research to make clinical decisions, and deliver a competent and safe holistic care. Students will learn in an environment fostering self-directed learning, working in groups, and critically analyzing current issues affecting critical care nursing practice. The students will attend a number of face to face lectures, interact as adult learners through the online activities, and receive training in skill labs and real ICU settings.

Ethics is the systematic study of what a person's conduct and actions ought to be with regard to self, other human beings, and the environment; it is the justification of the study of what a person'slife and relationshipsought to be, notnecessarily what they are.

  • This Course helps student to acquire knowledge and skills necessary for the practice of psychiatric nursing. It provides students with an understanding of mental health concepts as well as the intellectual, emotional and behavioral reactions of an adult client with psychiatric disorders. Emphasis is on the concepts of primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention in the care of psychiatric clients utilizing an eclectic approach in the care of individuals, families and community using evidence based  findings.

  • This course is designed for nursing students enrolled in the Faculty of Nursing. It is directed to orient the students about thinking as a concept and its importance and implications on nursing practice and nurses'performance . Also , it is geared toward teaching the principles of scientific thinking and trasformation of nursing process including critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills.
  • This course is geared towards identification of the steps of health education process, starting from assessment, then planning and stating objectives, and ending with evaluation of such steps. Moreover, you will learn how to design a health education lesson plan, designing your own printed or digital instructional media. At the end, you will identify barriers to health education message as will as principles enhancing such message.
